The unemployment rate reached a 16-year high of 7.6%.  I would highly recommend all U.S. citizens to write their congressmen and women to help prevent what could be the downfall of Social Security as we know it!

A bit of background.  An alarming amount of people currently live off of government pay checks due to high unemployment.  Those that are retired or unable to work, receive social security.  Ever since 1935 when the great depression brought Franklin D. Roosevelt and the rest of the U.S. government to create social security, Americans have been paying in, to help those in need, as well as set up a government ran retirement account.  H1B and L1 Visas provide non-immigrant foreigners mostly from India up to 6 years to take a job from an American.  Since the H1B and L1 foreigners are not citizens or immigrants, and are here for up to 6 years, they are not allowed to receive funds from Social Security.

Well the Indian government has decided that taking U.S. jobs, our money, and our abilities to feed our families wasn't enough.  Now the Indian government is attempting to get the U.S. government to make it so H1B and L1 visa holders do not have to pay taxes!

This is an outrage!  One that we, as a country can and will not stand for.  In a time where people have lost their jobs, homes, and nearly everything, we still give jobs to foreigners in this country.  And now they want to eliminate the paying of taxes.  We all know of people out work that could be filling these jobs.  We've all read here on AJA and other places of the illegal distortion and H1B and L1 abuse from companies and less than scrupulous individuals who defraud our country.  And now the ones that are here taking our jobs don't even want to pay taxes.

If H1B visa holders alone didn't pay taxes, that would be nearly 900,000,000 in social security taxes not paid.
