Ray LaHood, the Transportation secretary, said Wednesday morning during a House Appropriations panel hearing that owners of recalled Toyotas should stop driving them and take them to their dealers to be repaired.
Mr. LaHood said his advice to owners of recalled Toyotas was to “stop driving it, take it to a Toyota dealer because they believe they have a fix for it.”
“We need to fix the problem so people don’t have to worry about disengaging the engine or slamming the brakes on or put it in neutral," Mr. LaHood said in response to questions.
TOKYO/JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Honda Motor Co recalled 646,000 of its Fit/Jazz and City automobiles globally over a faulty window switch after a child died when fire broke out in a car last year.
The recall includes 140,000 vehicles in the United States and covers the models sold in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa and Asia, but not Japan, a spokeswoman said.
The Fit is Honda's best-selling model in Japan.
The unemployment rate reached a 16-year high of 7.6%. I would highly recommend all U.S. citizens to write their congressmen and women to help prevent what could be the downfall of Social Security as we know it!
By now you've heard about the worst recall in automotive history with Toyotas under-engineered cars. They have not found a fix as of yet. But believe they may have something that will work. The cost of $100 each will run Toyota into the ground costing nearly 1 billion USD.
Well, Consumer Reports, which has already been accused time and time again of being in bed with Japanese car companies had this to say this week regarding the cars....
"These cars aren't dangerous"

I don't think it's any secret what his motives are. Right Shami Khorana?!
Let me sum it up for you.
Shami Khorana says that H1B visas do not steal American jobs. Really? Even with all of the proof to the contrary? Does he counter and say why?

NEW YORK (http://CNNMoney.com) -- Toyota's recall troubles continue to grow, with the total number of vehicles affected by two recalls involving gas pedals growing to at least 5.3 million.
The latest addition to the recalls was announced Wednesday, with 1.1 million vehicles added to the 4.2 million recalled in November to fix a problem in which the gas pedal can become caught on the edge of the removable floormat. That problem can cause the vehicle to accelerate uncontrollably.
After announcing the largest auto recall in US history last fall to fix sudden acceleration problems, Toyota late Thursday announced an additional recall of some 2.3 million vehicles. The announcement was made after ABC News told the Japanese automaker that it was going to air a report about more Toyota sudden-acceleration problems.
